Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, 26 November 2009 – HITT will be supplying the modernization, expansion and new construction of the vessel traffic management systems of Ningbo, Zhoushan and Hangzhou Bay in China. Zhejiang Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) selected HITT’s system based on its state-of-the-art technology, as best out of three providers. The contract has a value of approximately EUR 3.3 million.
The Zhejiang province is located south of Shanghai. Ningbo is an important port for the petrochemical industry and the fourth container port of China. With this new order and its existing operations in Shanghai, HITT belongs to one of the strongest players in the growing segment of vessel traffic systems in China.
As part of the project for China MSA, HITT provides the ISIS (Integrated Surveillance Information Services) server which collects and integrates relevant shipping information by linking with existing and new systems in China. In addition it offers an Internet application that provides access to real time information on shipping movements.
